Operating Arm (OpArm)
Function: the Operating Arm (OpArm) is responsible for the implementation of board decisions in the operational business of the eCl@ss association.
 Area of responsibilities
The objectives of the OpArm follow the predetermined strategy of the eCl@ss e.V. and result from the board's orders and resolutions:
The Operating Arm (OpArm) is a committee initiated by the Board of Directors. The object of the committee is to assist the Board of Directors with the preparation of matters relevant for resolutions and job tracking in respect of issues of relevance to the Association. The OpArm serves the Steering Committee in connection with the formulation and plausibility checking of its advisory suggestions to the Board of Directors (in accordance with Section 7 clause 1 of the Articles of Association of eCl@ss e.V. dated April 18, 2012).
The OpArm helps to enhance the efficiency of the eCl@ss organization (committees, Office) and of the eCl@ss standard. Associated objectives include lean processes, transparent responsibilities, efficient decision-making, target-oriented rules and regulations and a culture of automatic professional compliance. Each company with a seat on the Steering Committee may appoint a maximum of one permanent representative for the OpArm
The activities of the OpArm reflect the tasks of the Board of Directors and of the Steering Committee as described in Section 6 clause 3 and Section 7 clause 2 of the Articles of Association of eCl@ss e.V. The OpArm involves the committees and bodies of eCl@ss e.V. on a topic-specific basis in carrying out its activities. The tasks of the OpArm are defined as follows in consultation with the Board of Directors:
a) The OpArm receives specific tasks from the Board of Directors
b) The OpArm generates tasks and suggests these to the Board of Directors
The following are to be defined with the Board of Directors in respect of a) and b):
- tasks elaborated by the OpArm and submitted to the Board of Directors for a decision
- tasks on which the OpArm decides independently and then notifies the Board of Directors
The OpArm coordinates the tasks regularly with the Board of Directors in the meetings. Task resource planning, scheduling and prioritization are to be assessed by the OpArm.
The detailed OpArm task list is created by the OpArm and kept current in coordination with the Board of Directors.
